Elon Musk has fired back at claims he cheated on a game created by Grinding Gear Games, a New Zealand video game developer.

The tech mogul played the new action-roleplayer game Path of Exile 2.

“He has now grown in infamy for his abilities within Path of Exile 2 as gamers question how Musk has time for the game in addition to his CEO positions,” Newsweek reported.

The website said a Reddit post showed a second party was using Musk’s account to progress it within the game.

Musk has also posted on his X social media platform about playing Path of Exile 2 on a plane using Starlink.

Since the cheating allegations, Musk has taken aim at one of his accusers, a gamer named Asmongold.

Musk said Asmongold was “good at caustic commentary and making fun of people” but no good at video games.

Grinding Gear Games is a West Auckland company and Path of Exile has been played by millions worldwide.

In 2023, Grinding Gear Games made an after-tax profit of $28.4 million on revenue of $83.4m.
