Lil Wayne is reportedly preparing to marry again after quietly proposing to a woman said to be in her 20s.
Months after the 43-year-old rapper’s former girlfriend Denise Bidot publicly accused him of ending their relationship on Mother’s Day, it has now been reported the musician – real name Dwayne Michael Carter jnr – proposed “earlier this year” to a woman from Indiana.
The apparent engagement was reported on Tuesday by TMZ and comes during another turbulent chapter in Lil Wayne’s often headline-making personal life.
The Grammy-winning musician remains one of the defining figures of modern hip-hop through albums including Tha Carter III, Tha Carter IV and Tha Carter V, alongside hits such as Lollipop, A Milli and 6 Foot 7 Foot.
In recent months, Lil Wayne has remained in the spotlight amid renewed discussion around his legacy in rap and anticipation surrounding future music projects after years of speculation over Tha Carter VI.

TMZ reported the performer had become engaged earlier this year, although the rapper has not publicly commented on the reports.
The news arrives shortly after model Bidot accused Lil Wayne of ending their relationship on Mother’s Day in 2025. She shared a message online at the time criticising the timing of the split.
She wrote: “Breaking up with someone on Mother’s Day is diabolical.
“Prayers up though. God always pulls me through. Walking with faith.”
In a video shared alongside the statement, Bidot also accused Lil Wayne of alleged physical and emotional abuse.
Lil Wayne has not publicly addressed the allegations.
The rapper’s relationships have frequently attracted public attention throughout his career.
Before dating Bidot, Lil Wayne was engaged to Australian model La’Tecia Thomas, although the pair separated in 2020.
Lil Wayne was previously married to television personality and entrepreneur Toya Johnson from 2004 to 2006.
The former couple share daughter Reginae Carter, who has herself become a prominent reality television personality and influencer.
The musician also shares children with singer Nivea, radio host Sarah Vivian and actor Lauren London, who was the longtime partner of the late rapper Nipsey Hussle before his death in 2019.
Lil Wayne additionally had a high-profile relationship with rapper Trina during the early years of his rise to fame.
Alongside his personal life, Lil Wayne continues to be recognised as one of the most commercially successful rappers of his generation after emerging as a teenage member of Cash Money Records and the Hot Boys before launching a successful solo career.
His influence on artists including Drake, Nicki Minaj and Kendrick Lamar has frequently been credited with helping shape modern hip-hop, while his Young Money label became one of rap’s dominant forces during the late 2000s and early 2010s.
Despite ongoing speculation surrounding his private life, Lil Wayne has largely kept recent relationships away from public view.
