An Auckland entertainer has been charged with sexually abusing three underage girls.

The man denies the offending and the matter is heading to trial.

The man appeared in the North Shore District Court this morning.

He pleaded not guilty to sexual connection with a young person, who was 13, and two charges of committing indecent acts on two underage teenage girls, one 14 and one 15.

He elected a trial by jury and was granted bail.

The man wore a black shirt and blue jeans as he appeared in the dock for his first appearance. He had one supporter in court.

Sexual connection with a young person carries a maximum penalty of 10 years’ imprisonment, the latter charges carry a maximum of seven years.

None of the charges are representative.

His next appearance is scheduled for February next year.

Police allege the offending occurred between 2014 and 2018.
