One person has been seriously injured after a car rolled on to an Auckland cycleway, according to Hate Hone St John.

Emergency services were called to Patiki Rd in Avondale about 9.52pm last night following reports of a single-vehicle crash.

Fire and Emergency New Zealand sent three fire trucks to the scene, where crews worked to free one person trapped inside the vehicle.

The car came to rest on the North Western Cycleway, which runs parallel to State Highway 16 between central Auckland and the western suburbs.
