The Warriors have been thrashed by the Melbourne Storm 42-14 in their NRL clash at AAMI Park.

The result extends their winning streak over their Auckland rivals to 17 games, with the Warriors’ last success coming nearly a decade ago.

Melbourne run in six tries, as they snatched a 36-0 halftime lead, but the Warriors did bounce back in the second half, outscoring the hosts three tries to one.

Adding injury to insult, Warriors co-captain James Fisher-Harris looks set for a stint on the sidelines with a pectoral injury, while Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad failed a head injury assessment.

The Warriors, who now have a 3-2 record this season, are back in action next Saturday against the Brisbane Broncos in Auckland.
