Clara Tauson has claimed the ASB Classic title in a walkover against Naomi Osaka
Osaka, the tournament seventh seed, was forced to retire due to an undisclosed injury after winning the opening set 6-4
The Japanese star looked in terrific form against her Danish rival early to build a 5-1 lead, before Tauson fought back to 5-4.
Osaka was able to close out the set on her own serve, but didn’t look comfortable and immediately called for a trainer at its conclusion
