Turn to a wardrobe staple you can wear through the seasons.

Need an easy transitional piece for the next few months?

A great button-up can accompany you through many occasions. Here, we’ve collected some of the most interesting new arrivals designed for casual gatherings, office dress codes and special events.

Consider a breezy button-up if you have a cruisy agenda or a slick long sleeve for days where you need to get things done.

This shirt by Manaaki is called the Waihi Tapu. It translates to “sacred paradise”, and the name reflects the illustrated print by designer Kat Tua (it depicts a lush landscape).

This vibrant floral has a red hue reflected throughout twenty-seven names’ latest drop.

A relaxed short-sleeve from Juliette Hogan is an easy layering piece (and has a print to accommodate various seasons).

A three-quarter sleeve shirt is a true in-between for hot and cold weather. Sylvester has this bright blue cut or a darker green and grey.

Monochromatic embellishment can make a subtle but interesting addition to any outfit. This floral applique is a great example.

Return to the classics with this “daily” white button-up by Kowtow.

If you’re seeking subversion, try interesting collar shapes. This shawl collar offers a twist, dropping to a lower neckline.

It’s called the Big Business Shirt because that’s exactly what it is – an oversized boxy button-up with slick pinstripes. You might also take inspiration from the embroidered PJS and embellish your own initials.

Stripes are a popular pattern for a button-up, as RM Williams illustrates again here. The point of difference? Floral embroidery across the chest pocket.

If you prefer close-fitting clothing, skip the boxy cuts in favour of a bias cut blouse. This one from Ruby captures the shape.

The details matter, as this made-to-order button-up suggests. The collar is slightly exaggerated, inviting a sense of the 70s without losing its contemporary feel.
